The Sewanee Utility District needs your help to complete our service line survey. We are required by the EPA to identify the material used in all service lines connecting to our system to determine if there is any potential for lead to leach into our customer’s water. Once we complete the inventory, we will be able to identify and remove any materials that may potentially be a hazard.
Part of the survey is identifying plumbing materials used on the customer’s side of the meter. In order to get the best data, we are turning to our customers for help. There is a short online survey that you can take to let us know what kind of plumbing you have in your home or business. In order to compete the survey, you will need your account number that can be found on your last bill from SUD. If you aren’t sure what type of pipes you have, you can submit a picture of any exposed piping (in the basement, crawlspace, or under a sink), and we will try to help you figure it out. The survey can be completed on any smartphone, tablet, or computer that is connected to the internet.
The survey can be found here.
Thank you for your help in this very important project.
